Subject: Rear Axel on Dak\Rango? IP: Logged
Message: Hello, I have a 2000 4x4 durango with a 360ci in it. Im currently runnning some wimppy ass p235's on it but soo plan on buying either some 31's or 32x11.5's.
My question is, I thought the 4x4 was sospouse to have the reart axel under the leafs, but mine is on-top of the leafs, is that right, and if there is is there a flip kit for it?
When i sold my ram 1500 i took off my 2" blocks and U bolds form the back planing on useing them on my rango, as i thought it was the same setup.
Also on another note, (dont want to start a new tread over this) When im sitting on level ground, the front lower bumpstops are about a 10th of and inch from the lower control arm is this right, or has my torsion bars slipe lower? I notice alot of 4x4 rangos stock look higher that mine in the front... thanks for the help.

Message: The axle set-up on your Durango is correct. I couldn't tell you why it is different than the way 4x4 Dakotas are set-up, though. I do know that spring under set-ups have less axle wrap than spring over, but I doubt that is the reason they made the Durango that way.
Maybe try cranking up the torsion bars and see if that helps with the front.
