Subject: crunching noise in front end

I have a nearly new 2003 Dakota 4x4 extra cab. It has about 7000 miles on it. When I first got it my wife and we cruiseing slowly on a sand trail. We hit some whoops, again fairly slowly but not at a crawl, and as the suspension got to to the max compression it made a crunching sound. I figured it was just the tires, as it came the bigger tire and wheel package. Anyway since then I put a 3" body lift on and cranked the torrision bars about 1.5" of lift. I am running 35's so I trimmed a ton of plastic off the air damn and the plastic rear fender well. I have been noticing when we go over a speed bump when it gets to max compression it makes the same crunching noise like something binding or hitting plastic or something. Not really sure what it could be.....Again it is the exact same noise it made when it was stock.....Any idea's on what parts to look at?

If you turn at full wheel lock in a parking lot do you hear the crunching? If so it is a bad cv axle or joint. Does it pop at all? That could mean a bad ball joint. The popping would only be heard on rough pavement or gravel roads.

i would check the front sway bar bushings, they get dry and make all kinds of noise as the bar moves when the suspension cylces.

Thanks guys! It doesnt make any noise at all when turning slowly or otherwise. Only seems to make it when I go over speed bumps faster then a crawl.
