Just curious who else out there is using there tax returns or other means for a raise to their 99+ R/P Dak other than Knobbyman? Or are you waiting for the guinea pigs to spend their hard earned dough first, lol. If I had patience that is what I would do... I am ordering my 4.5" and hope to have it installed(with Truspeed) in about 4 weeks when I have a break from school with a full day to install. Hopefully Knobby will have some pics and feedback before then to make our install's a little easier(if your doing it yourself). 4.5" Suspension + 3" Body + approx 2"(tires)= 9.5" taller than stock:) No 35's for me, don't want to be spending as much for gear change as lift cost. 3.55's work great with 33's IMO, still plenty of power for passing and smoking ZR2's light to light:)

I am going to the Keystone National Dealer Convention in NJ next weekend where every major aftermarket manufacturer will be showing off their latest stuff. I will be checking out some 16x10 wheels and whatever else catches my wallet, I mean eye. Haven't even used my 16x8 Hellcat's and I already sold them<------- Gottem for dealer cost and sold them for same:) (I am impulsive but not stupid:)

Anyone else in NY getting lifted?

They had me all geeked up with the free install ... but then I learned they only covered to $500 ... then the rumor started that the free offer had been discontinued. I haven't heard confirmation that that's the case, but if it is that had to be the shortest promotional offer I've seen!

So I think I'm gonna save my pennies and see how it fares out for the rest of you guys. If the lift seems solid and holds up well maybe I'll consider it in a couple of months. Who knows ... maybe by that time there'll be some more options for us "not so experiemental" types! ;o)

Best of luck to all of you brave souls anyway!

Yeah, if you check out their website, it's official no free install effective 2/4/02. Once I get the install instructions and the info I received from Ian that you do not need to cutoff anything other than the factory bumpstops from front end is correct, I will place my order. I really want something I can remove when I trade it in or sell it in a couple years since I usually upgrade my vehicles at around 25-30K, lift will be removed with most other mods and sold seperately or used on my new Dak if the parts still fit(hopefully). The only time the dealer has seen my truck is for warranty work(when I first bought it) and once lift goes on, unless it is something serious(motor/transmission), I will do all the work myself and keep the warranty intact for the next owner who gets a relatively "stock" 01 Dakota:)

Since I've already done the body lift, I'm not going to do a suspension lift. I'm happy with my current height.

I think I'm going to do gears next. Expensive, but I really want to do it...31's and 3.55's were okay, but the 32's make the gearing a little too tall for my liking. 3.92's should put me right where I want to be.

Dan, once you start seeing pics of suspension lifted Daks, you'll come around:) I was happy with my height after body lift too, but I have gotten "used to it" after 3 months of driving it. By the time 3.92's become reasonable in price, I'll be ordering a new truck with 3.92's:) and with my mods I have no complaints on power, but there is definately a differance going from the 31's where I could spin them on dry pavement at will and snap my neck with torque! She's still a 4x4 sleeper.

Without any sidesteps I have to pull myself up and in, but I have been trying to figure out what kind of side steps/bars to use for easier entry after lift is in. Having body lift reduces the options since most connect to body and frame or body mounts only and I really don't feel like designing new brackets. I have been looking at those CARR steps that attach to bottom of truck, but the require drilling holes in the floorboards to put some large bolts through which I don't really care to do. Anyone have any suggestions.?

Hmmmmmm...so if my wife makes me get steps so her mom can get in my truck, then I should just go for the 6½ lift and 315/75R16 on my stock 16x8 wheels, huh? and make her pay the difference????

I'm thinking about getting a suspension lift. But I think I'm going to wait and see if some other kits come out and weigh the pros & cons. Mileage sucks now, but WTH, I'll probably go with the 3.92's or possibly lower if they come out with new gearsets for our rears. I wish they had a 1&1/2" or 2" body lift then I could go with a 4&1/2" suspension lift for 6" total. I could probably machine down the components in the 3" kit and refab the bumper brakets, but if I'm gonna go thru all that trouble I might as well make my own out of hockey pucks, LOL. I like my Dak but these aftermarket people ought to get the ball rolling, IMO.

Good Luck, 2THEXTRM, you're alot braver than I am, LOL. I've got the 3" stainless DeeZee nerf's on my truck, got 'em off eBay cheap, I think they look pretty good on the truck, but they would need to be modified to work with a body lift:-(

I think im gonna go for it. I would like to see some more pictures of how everything goes together first. But if not then oh well. Ill have the money next week and am still not sure if should get the 4.5 or 6.5. Didnt someone say somewhere that there was a warranty on the parts for the kit? As for the truck guess I am pretty much throwing out the warranty it came with, but what the heck it should be worth it.

They have a lifetime warranty on any failed parts caused by manufacturer defect. I believe most other lift manufacturers have the same guarantee. The chance of a part failing unless it is under extreme off-roading conditions is probably pretty slim anyway IMO. Much better chance of engine or tranny failing first IMO:)

bjlindsey- I say your mother-in-law should use one of those small aerobic trampolines:)

BlackDak02- I thought I saw a 2" body lift somewhere(better than hockey pucks:)

RizeAbuv- As far as lift choice, for me it depended what size tires I wanted to run. I chose to stay with 33's but hopefully be able to use a 10" wheel with no rubbing anywhere on or off-road.

I think I am gonna just have to fab something to fit. I saw some rockbars that actually bolt to frame(can't find them now though) so they should be less work than bars that attach to body mounts for fabbing "raise-up brackets". Since I am going to be putting in a set of Roll-bars I need a step that will match and not look outta place with roll bars. No matter what, with a body lift, we are gonna have to custom fab a mount since no manufacturer does that I know of. Decisions, Decisions. New truck warranty????? where?????????

I've been thinking about a body lift but since I cranked on my torsion bars I have no rubbing with my 32's and I like how it sets now.Don't get me wrong a lifted Dak looks sweet but for wright now I'm happy!!;-)
