Subject: Maximum Tire Size... IP: Logged
Message: OK fellas, I've searched the message boards and found no consistencies whatsoever, so here it goes again...
I have a 2001 4x4 Dak and want to put the largest tire/rim combo on it possible without rubbing fender or tire. I want to put 15 inch rims on it, but I don't know how wide they can be and I don't know how big a tire can fit without rubbing.
I'm looking to get the gnarliest look without lifting the truck.
Does anyone know of a nice looking tire/rim combination? I'm going for the Mickey Thompson simulated beadlock rims cause I think they look great, but exactly what size I can fit is beyond me.
Thanks in advance guys,
Kevin

Message: well I have a 2wd lifted 3inches and I have 31-12.50 x-terrains on 15x10 inc rims and I don't rub. I'm sure with some torsion bar trimming you would be straight. I had to trim mine. stay with a 15x8 and I highly doubt there will be a problem.

Message: Thanks for the info. I've been doing research on the web and it looks like I'll probably go with a 15x8 rim and 31" tires. My original tires are about worn out at 50K miles and it's time to do the Moog balljoint replacement along with better brake rotors...so I decided to do it all at once. Now I just need to drop about $1600 that I don't currently have, and buy a grinder to get those damn rivets off the stock balljoints.

Message: i would go with 15x8's as well, 15x10's place too much weight at the end of your axles, and they also make your tires look shorter cause of their width.
