Anyone know where to get a recal gear so my speedo reads correctly? The dealer can zap the computer, but I think they will only do it for the two factory available tire sizes. I'm running 285/75/16's on my '01 QC. Can this larger size be done in the computer via a non-dealer shop??

Tru- speed calibrator from Superlift or the super chips programmer, (superchips wont work on a 4.7).

I have both. tru speed is more accurate if you can cal to a GPS, the Superchips will only set to 29.5,31.5,32,33 tire sizes and I found that the Speedometer is still off a little so I have both installed.

Never late for a Tee time or wheelin with my buddies! Always ready for both!!!

Does the tru speed hook up to the ABS unit under the hood, or on the tranny? I have a 2003 Quad Cab. If it attaches to the ABS unit, where are those wires located? Any info would be great since I don't have a service manual.

From my site:

Hook the yellow wire to the white orange wire coming out of the wire bundle. Then connect the green wire to the white orange wire coming from the connector just in front of the master cylinder. Connect the power wire red from the control box to a power wire. I chose the blue white wire since when I looked it up on the wiring diagram it did not seem to be a part of a critical system so if I messed it up I would not break anything to bad.

Hey forexfour ... I don't have the Truspeed device but I do have a KRC Gearbox that I've had lying around for many moons. In your pic, which wire is the speed sensor output and which wire is the speedo input? I've been surfin' the web trying to determine which wire I need to hack into cuz I'm too damn cheap to buy a manual for this one application. hehehe

Figure it's high time I get my speedo in check and get this thing workin' like it's intended.

I am not sure, I would have to look it up in the book to make sure this is the same wire.

Looks like the green wire is the Truspeed's input wire and the yellow is the output to the PCM (from your pic). I think I can figure it out from there.

Although your wiring harness appears to be different than mine. I called Abbott (who manufactures the KRC "gear box") and she told me it was the white/orange wire on the white 32 pin connector located on the passenger fenderwell. I'll take a close look at my setup tonight and see what's what.

The wire may also come through that connector but for the install of the tru speed they prolly selected the easiest place to make the connection.
