Subject: Hey, you guys with SAS IP: Logged
Message: I've got just about all the parts I need for the axle swap on my '95, but I need to know what you guys do about the t-case. Do you keep the stock case? I'm planning to swap to a Doubler, but I don't know what I'll have to do for speedo and/or speed sensor.
Here's the plan:
Swap the stock 5.2 for a 5.9.
Swap the stock NV3500 for an NV4500.
(Both engine and tranny came out of a '95 RAM 2500)
Swap the stock NP231 for a Dodge NP203/Ford NP205 Doubler.
'79 F-150 D44F and 9inch rear
What do you think?

Message: NP and NV are basically the same in application in function they are slightly different. If your are going to be doing make sure you get one that allows you to go to 2 low. There are some transfer cases out there that allow you to Switch to front wheel drive and disengage the rear drive axle.
