Message: I have a 99 2WD Dakota and I wanted to put a 3" body lift on it. Will it cause any problems? What size BFG A/T will look the best under it without affecting it?

Message: I also have a 99 2WD. I had the 3" body and it is perfect. I am running 32x11.5x15 Dunlop mud tires right now (cheaper at the moment) and will either go with BFG or SuperSwampers after I get the suspension lift put on. I also had new wheels with this lift, with less backspacing than the stock, so my tires rub the plastic and front valence, but not the frame. I am still triming things when I hear rubbing, but after I get it all worked out, I will smooth it out and make it look professional. But the max size tire you can have is 32, and that will include trimming. You can run 31" with no trimming on it, but you can also run 31" with no lift (as my truck had when I got it).
If you want to see how it looks, go to http://members.cardomain.com/red99daksport .
So yeah. I'd recommend the 3" if you are looking for bigger tires to put on. As I said, no problems, so I hope I was able to help.

Message: Cole, you sure 31's will fit a 2wd dak? Just curious, I have a 98 2wd dak. I have the front lifted about 1.5 inches from stock. I am trying to find out the maximum tire size that will fit without any rubbing or further consequences. If you are sure 31's will fit I am there! I just need confirmation that they will fit a stock 2wd dak. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Message: my 99 Dak. Sport I got this past summer came with 31x10.5x15 and they worked perfect.. no rubbing or anything. But remember different companies have different sizes when they say "31".. for some it means they are 30.3", others it is 31.2". so I dunno any way for you to be assured. But many people on here have had 31" on 2wd non-lifted Dakota, just search
