Subject: has anyone painted their fabtech parts? IP: Logged
Message: Just seeing if anyone else has. I bought a used 2wd kit (control arms, springs, shocks, add-a-leaf) and am painting the arms and springs black to better match my truck's theme (red and black). Blue, as nice as it is, isn't going to match in with my truck.
I also e-mailed Fabtech and though they wont support the idea (says it will void warrenty if cause of a problem, though I bought it used so no warrenty there anyways probably) they said they will send me the decals to put back on there. I definetly want to show the Fabtech name.
I also made sure to cover the grease input and I will be buying new ball joints and bushings. So, if anyone has done this or if anyone has moe ideas with this, tell it on here :)

Message: I usually sand the parts down wery well and then use high heat enamel paint. I put it on pretty thick. usually I build myself a hanging metal rack that fits in the oven. then I paint my parts and then turn on the oven and bake them. My wife is usually NOT home when I do this otherwise Ill never hear the end of it. Works pretty well and it hardens the paint to almost a powdercoat finish

Message: haha, nice. Well, I don't have that much stuff. I smoothed out my parts and just sprayed...then another layer...then another.. looks pretty good. I left the original Fabtech lettering so when I add the new decals, it will have a better standout. I would love to do it the way you do. Perfect for a good coat and all. Send pics if you have any... cdchristian@yahoo.com
