I saw the 2" in JCWhitless. Performance Accessories is shown as the manufacturer and the JCW part number is 81UE6432A and includes bumper brackets. 00-01 Dakota is not avail in a 2", only 3".

I was wondering if the 33's would fit stock. The 31's are stock, and you'd think 33's should slip in. My last 4x4 was a Ranger and it came with metric tires in a 245/75/16 and I popped on 265/75/16's with no rub... that's 31.6". The Dak looks to have more room then my old Ranger for tires.

Anyway, thanks for the info :-) I hope mine back helps with the 2"BL.

Sorry Wal, but you'll have to do a body lift for 33's on a Dakota. Yes,they are bigger than Rangers, but with the way the '97 up uses that plastic air dam under the front bumber and with all that plastic in the wheel wells, a 32-11.50 is all you'll get stock. That's also with cranked torsion bars and a little trimming, or absolutely no off-roading if you don't. You can fit a 265-75-16 with no lift, but they are a little close, too. With a 3 inch body lift, most 285-75-16's are no problem and some 305-70-16's. It depends on the manufacturer as to their actual height. Remember, the tire might not be in reality what it says on the sidewall. Do some research before you buy tires. There are even some people who have put close to 35's on a Dak with only a body lift, cranked torsion bars, blocks in the rear springs, and a LOT of trimming. I don't want to have to cut my truck up that much to do that. Most 285-75-16's run roughly 33-11.5, but a Swamper SSR runs 33.9-11.50. I've seen 32-11.50's on stock Rangers a lot because of their more rounded wheel-wells, but they do rub off-road. I've seen 285-75-16's on a stock Dak before, but that was with trimming and no off-roading or negotiationg tight parking lots. He later added the body-lift.
