Subject: Question about axle flip abd other lifts IP: Logged
Message: I was reading in some old posts that doing an axle flip would give 4-5 inches. Well, this spring I am putting on a fabtech 3" on my 2wd dakota plus a daystar coil spacer. Would the axle flip workout to where the rear would get enough lift and not have that 'hot rod' look (where the back is much higher than the front)? THanks

Message: quad2nv does not have the fab 3" plus the spacers ............. you can't put anything more than 3" in the front unless you get a spindle . Call me what you want , email the guy and you will see that you can't , call fabtech and ask fabtechmotorsports.com

Message: http://www.geocities.com/quad2nv/Suspension.html - oh, what does that say? Fabtech Coils and Control Arms?? That is all the Fabtech kit is pretty much. ANd look! Daystar 2" spacers! And you know, Fabtech also says that the suspension lift should not be put on if someone already has a body lift... but wait, alot of people have body + suspension lift...

Message: did you ever put a 3" lift on a dak ????? after the lift you have about 1" before the arms top off on the spring housing . so what do you think would happen if you add a spacer in there ?????? you'll be riding on the bump stops and it will ride really nice and will make really good noise from the suspension and you will have gained an 1" higher with a really nice ride . If you have done the lift please go look at your truck . and if you do a search on the post you will see quad2nv says that you can't run them together , now go ahead and do it you may have a special truck ................

Message: depends.. I am guessing you mean 4x4, right? Because Fabtech does not make a 4" for the 2wd Dakota... And if you have the 4x4 with the 4" lift with 2" daystar spacer, then awesome.

Message: dude it's called sarcasm ............... Fabtech does not make a lift for 4x4 , 2 wd daks have springs and 4x4 torsion bars , you can't use spacers on 4x4 . Now I see why you don't understand what I'm trying to explain to you . You don't now the difference between tosion bars , coils , arms , I could tell you whatever and its all good . I have a fabtech 8" how about that and 2" spacers ....................

Message: I know the difference, I just did not think of it right then. After all, I just woke up after a week of college finals. I know what torsion bars, coils, arms, and so on are. And I knew Fabtech does not do 4x4 Daks.. I was not serious on my responce. But QUAD2NV shows that he has the coil and arm lift on his 2wd dak. Fabtech parts. The coil and arm are pretty much what the kit is. Plus shocks at that. And he says he has a Daystar 2" coil spacer. Now why wont it work? The spacer wont affect anything else besides the end of the coil. If QUAD2NV can make it work, then tell me how it does not work. You see the website...it says he has the fabtech suspension lift (arm and coil) as well as the coil spacer.

Message: Rivermanic, do you own a 4x2 Dakota? Cause you don't know what you're talking about. Stop BSing that Cole dude.
Cole, you can put up to 5" of lift on your Dakota. There are several ways to do this, but the two most popular are the fabtech kit with the 2" spacers, as you already know about. The other is an adjustable coil spring and spacer setup. Truckinsuspension I know sells that. Here is the link:
http://www.truckin-florida.com/product.asp?returnURL=default.asp&ID=25386
Your pretty much done when you hit 5" though. You'll get a little more height from the bigger tires, so I reckon around 8" total lift is what you'll be able to acheive. Good luck bro!

rivermaniac not flaming you but keep in mind it's about what you want to do. I put 2inch spacers on my truck over a year ago with stock a-arms 3.25 lift and my trucks rides fine. I can easily bottom my a-arms out on stock arms off road. but around town it's never happended. and my truck looks dam good too ask anybody.
