Subject: 1994 2WD body lift/tire question...
IP: Logged

Message:
I have gone through several hundred threads today on this topic and want to clarify some questions that I have had:

1. I have a 1994 Dakota Sport, 2WD, 3.9 magnum, 5 speed;

2. I would like to run 30s with the American Racing AR-767 (12mm offset, 5" BS) with 30 x 9.5/15s. This is mostly for looks & a little extra height;

3. Will I be able to run this combo with a Performance Accessories 2" body lift? Most of the discussions I found concerned the 3" kit;

4. If so, does anyone know from experience if I HAVE to weld a shifter extension on or will the stock (or Hurst) shifter work without the weld on part?

5. Is the steering linkage extension required for the 2" kit also? Is it included with the kit?

Thanks for any help you can provide...

I added a 2" kit to my 94 Dak. The shifter was fine but the steering shaft had to be cut, extended, and welded. I dont think anyone makes a steering extension for that year. Your 30" tires will probably work with some fender triming.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply...OK, I thought the PA kits came with an extension.

Since I posted, I also read about using the V-8 springs with the V-6 for another .75ish" of lift in the front...
