Subject: 2wd lift question IP: Logged
Message: Sooo. I have a question, but you probably already knew that much.
Since i got my truck i've been dead set on dropping it, seein as it's only a 2wd. But i was just dinkin around on the internet, lookin for a lift kit for my stepdad's truck, and i started thinkin about mine lifted. I know it's possible, but i'm not sure about the practicality of having mine lifted. I know it'd look pretty good, cuz(stop me if i'm wrong) all dakotas look good. Other than a rear end locker, what would i need to make this somewhat functional off the beaten path? I dont wanna go huge, just maybe 3 inches, and should i go body or suspension or both? One more...How much am i lookin at spendin on this?
Thanks for readin, i know you probably got tired halfway through it. I'll try not to post so long in the future.

Message: Hey Danny,
I think that lifting would be a much better idea than dropping. If you have checked into lifts on the internet you already know that a 3" lift runs about 1400.00. I have a 5" Truckin Suspension lift for the 2000-2004 2WD Dakota. The kit includes a rear axle flip kit, new coil springs with adjustable spacers and new upper control arms that are everything you need to get a 5" suspension lift. This lift is good for 2WD trucks that don't do seriuos offroading, but it will give you the extra ground clearance to do a little offroading. I would sell this for about $400-500 less than most other lifts. Let me know if you want more info.

Message: Dude, stop BSing people. A 3" Fabtech suspension lift for a 2wd Dak is 700 bucks. And it's built for serious offroading.
