Subject: what does the 5.5 mean on 15x10 6on5.5 ? IP: Logged
Message: I thought the 5.5 was the back spacing on a wheel but looking at 4 wheel parts web sight they are saying these wheels have 3' 5/8 back spacing so now I'm confused??

Message: I believe it is the bolt pattern spacing. If you swap rims, make sure you check this measurement. Dak's have an odd size.

Message: yeah, its the bolt spacing. with the 6 lugs, if you measure the center to center from 2 opposite lugs it should be 5.5.

Message: the rims you are looking at wont fit your truck.
the only option on that page is the 15x8s. you need the bolt pattern to be 6x4.5
the backspacing can be different then the stock 5.5
backspacing is just how far the mounting point of the rim is to the inside edge of the rim, so with less backspacing it pushes the rim out. so if you have 15x8s now with 5.5 backspacing and you put on 15x8s with say 3.5 backspacing the rim will stick out 2 inches more then it does now.
