Subject: HELP HELP Body Lift IP: Logged
Message: Ok guys, I've tried to do my homework but I keep getting different information. I've found 6 or 7 posts on this site and they all are saying different info. I just bought a Perf Acc. 3 in Lift for my 2000 Ext Cab Dakota. I have a 5 speed stick and 4x4 shifter on the floor. I called Perf Ascc. and had them fax the instructions (my lift hasn't arrived in the mail yet) boy they look like a cluster f*&$. The instructions say that you need to weld the shift extendor on but I've found 4 posts on here that say you do not. Also, I want to to put on 33 - 12.50 15's on my factory rims. My boss said the 12.50's will bubble on factory rims? Are factory rims 8 inches? Should I get 33 - 10.50 15's ? And any other tips on things I should watch out for would be greatly appreciated.

Message: I just installed a 3" PA body kit on my 01 Quad 4x4, the same kit used on the '00 Daks. Mine is an automatic, so I can't speak about the manual transmission adjustment.
However, the big difference I noticed between the '00 and '01 4x4s is this: the '00 has a manual lever to trigger the front transfer linkage. That linkage bar needs to be removed, cut, and an extension (provided in kit) WELDED in the middle, per instructions. It sounds like a major pain in the a$$. The '01, on the other hand, has an electric motor to engage the linkage. The only front diff connection between the body and frame is the wire running from the front transfer linkage engagement switch (2wd/4wd-Hi/4wd-Lo switch), which has enough slack to not become a problem.
When looking at tire sizes, watch the aspect ratio...that changes the diameter AND width, which could affect rubbing, turning radius, or both. Ask a shop if you can try them on in the front for a bit before buying
Hope that helps....
