Subject: Will it Rub?

I have a dakota quad cab (02). I put a 3" suspension lift on from rancho. If I use 15x10 rims and put 33 12.5 15 size tires on them, will it rub in the front? Thanks for your help.

I have a 1998 4X4 with the 3" Rancho lift...pretty sure that the tire clearances and everything is about the same as yours. Anyhow, I put 15X10 wheels and 33X12.5 tires on my truck and there was definately some rubbing on the plastic bumper piece and on some of the metal on the inside of the fenderwell toward the rear. How much rubbing you get/trimming you'll need to do will depend on offset, but from what I've seen pretty much everybody with this setup gets it.

Use the search feature of the message board and I'm sure you'll find more information on this subject than you'd ever care to read.

Good luck!

I think Yes. Not knowing what Backspace the rims have you may not only rub in the upper ball joint but you may also rub on the outer fender.

I do not know for sure though based on what you posted.

Like I said, not knowing the BS of what you listed I can not help you on those rims.

My experience is 285x75x16 on stock is OK, if you have upgraded to MOOGs on the uppers then it will come close to rubbing. This is on Stock rims with a BS of 5.5", so if you went with a rim that has 4" of BS and the 12.5 wide I think you will be OK. You might end up with a little trimming on the outer fender flare but I think the Frame rub will be gone and you will clear the upper ball joint.

I have not tried this and it is only what I think will work. I do not want to go with custom rims so I run 33x10.5x15 MT and AT's and I have no problems with Full articulation, Rubbing or anything. Plus the extra stress from custom rims with less BS and wider tires is not there.

That rim sounds like it will rub on the outside of the fender pretty good and it will take a good amount of trimming to minimize that. But I dont think you will rub on the Frame! :)

The tire is gonna stick out from the truck a good bit to.
