Before I start working on lifting the body. I want to know if
the steering shaft is easy to disconnect after taking the bolt
off or will it need any persuading to come off?

I didn't have any trouble with my '99 Dak steering shaft. It was pretty easy. Infact almost the whole lift was pretty easy. Did have some problems with the front bumper brackets lining up, but nothing a little drilling couldn't take care of. Anyway, good luck with the lift. I completely enjoy mine!

Did you guys have to unbolt the steering shaft then lift the
drivers side? That part of the instructions has me worried
too, It mentions something about drilling a hole for the
front bumper install, but where exactly? btw my kotas a '98.
Any got any pics of that part? email me if you got pics at
rm.navarro@earthlink.net.
Thanks for all your replies.

You do have to drill for the bumper but it's not that bad, and I wouldn't have had any trouble if I had read the instructions as carefully when I put the lift in as I did just now. Don't tighten anything up until all the bumper bolts are started and you are lined up.
The steering shaft does get unbolted and unhooked and then the cab gets lifted. the biggest thing is to make sure the airbag fuse is out and that you do not turn your shaft or your wheel at all after it's disconnected. If yours pulls out as easy as mine did that shouldn't be a problem.

You guys are great, things seem pretty easy to do.

Dale, I have heard about the problems with putting the
extension on, can you elaborate on why it is so difficult? Is
it the aligning of the extension or the fit?
