Subject: R/T suspension lift
IP: Logged

Message:
I've a '99 "stock" R/T. I bought it for the engine size and trans.

After a year of living on a dirt road I want to raise the factory lowered suspension up to that of a Sport, getting back the 2" or so.

One dealer says the only difference is springs. Setting my truck against a standard 2WD Dak I can see the rear leafs are more arced in the standard Dak. I'm guessing the front coils are either shorter in my R/T or compressed.

Another dealer said depending on the VIN# there are "a bunch" of control arm/coil spring/shock absorber combos, and if I were to simply swap springs I might not be able to ever align the front end again. He also said this is a Dodge liability CYA thing.

CYA aside, what's the reality? Am I lookin' at a whole front end spindles, springs, arms deal or is it simpler than that?

Thanks to all of you knucklebuster "been there, done that" types.
