You can hardly even notice the frame on a Dakota with a body lift jacka$$!!

Why are you always so anti-bodylift anyway?!

Not all of us want to tear apart our suspension for the same amount of lift and make it non-reversable in the event you want to trade it in!

And no we don`t all "wheel our trucks" as hard and as often as you apparently do , so the next time someone sais a certain wheel and combo works for them , on their truck , shut the f&$k up!

I dislike body lifts as much as the next guy does, but my 4x4 has one on it. And for the record body lifts can be very dangerous if not installed properly and checked from time to time. Suspension lifts on the other hand are much more reliable if designed proporly. Body lifts are good for poor people (like me) and golf shop offroad wanna-be's(H2 owners & people who buy 4x4's and never offroad them).

H2's have no more offroad capabilities than any other SUV. If you failed to ntice to cut on cost, all they did was build the H2 off of a SUV chasis and drivetrain. I've never been impressed by H2's...ever. They're ugly and a shame on the Hummer name.

Whatever!!!!

Body lift = lots o frame showing. Fact! I have my own opinion like you have yours. So what get over it.

I love to use the word cheap and watch the cheap bastards come unglued!!!

Fact

A body lift is a a lot CHEAPER than a suspesion lift, SO F'N what!!!

I waited patiently for what I wanted. I new from the get go a body lift was not what I wanted. I am just glad I did not go any further on the solid axel swap.

FACT
You can spot a body lifted truck from a mile away. The frame shows big time. If you have nerfs it helps.

Who cares about Fords and Chevy's and there tendancy to show frame with out a body lift it still shows and looks like crap.

This is my opinion and I think I am still alowed to have it.

I maybe a gigantic Jack azz but I do not hide behind a screen name.

I have never once commented to anyone directly and said their truck looks like crap since it has a body lift.

One mans junk is anothers treasure.

It has nothing to do with being CHEAP , it has evrything to do with being AVAILABLE at the time I was ready to lift my Dakota! I have the money to put a suspension lift on it , but none was available!
FACT So what if you can spot a body lifted truck a mile away...like I said , more than likely you`re talking about a Chevy that has more frame showing without a body lift than my Dakota with a bodylift (and height adjusted nerf bars).

There have been many times here that someone has said ,hey I was able to fit 35s with only a 3in. lift and some turns of the torsion bars , or I put 10 in. wide wheels on mine or etc...and your response is ALWAYS something to the effect of...yea buy lets see it flex like my truck does off-road and then see how the fit!
Who gives a flyin F^%k , most of us have our trucks to get us to work and back , and look good doing it , not everyone has the time and more important , the places to go if we wanted to.
GET LOST!

umm...if you had the money, I'm sure a suspension lift could have been fabbed for a decent price, body lifts are for poor people that want their trucks to look good......period, and body lifts are a no-no for anyone that seriously off-roads.

p.s. ME, not to get too deep into your personal opinions, but in MY opinion anyone who lifts a truck for cosmetic puroses is a retard, and is classified with the same folk who buy a f-350 get some rediculous lift and 44's and lumbers down the highway, and on the off chance he takes it off road can only go 5 mph and gets in everyones way, same thing with the H2 fags, no idea what they're doing, just wasting money and other peoples fun. Gotta love those street posers, with their armorall'd 33's, 3" body lifts and westin "grill guards"

oh well

Me and whom ever else,

If I am coming across argumentative I appoligize! I am know for making statements like this, "Truth hurts" and then being called a F'n whatever for saying it.

Well I am saying it. Fact is fact that is all if you cant deal with it sorry. Most asked question about lifting a truck is what are the options. Look up every post and they will say" you can do a suspesion lift for over 1k or go the cheaper route for the same return, Larger tire, for about $300. That is a fact. Everyone understands this.
Yes Until Feb of this year we only had the Body lift option and are lucky to have the suspension lift now.

I am only looking out for the guy who was like me 3 years ago, clueless. I still have no clue about a lot of crap but I know that. I know one thing I have learned and that is a lot about lifts and tires and rims and backspace. I have gone against what is recommended on this board a lot and glad I have.

I am only providing some additional info regarding the the topic, so someone who does what he thinks he need to do, end up trying to figuring out why he rubs and why he cant wheel it because of the setup he read on this board worked for someone else. It is very misleading to all the different setups and driving styles.

I agree most raised Dakota's and 4x4's in general never leave the pavement. I like a cool lookin truck just like you guys. But it has to work for me as well.

YES I flex the crap out of my truck. Most guys dont.

Again I am only looking out for the guy who reads this board and does what he thinks he needs to do and then to go out and rip off his fenders or something. Some guys just dont understand what he is doing but because he reads it from posts and other back it up he thinks it will work.

My best wheelin bud, Perpetrate, has a body lifted V-8 running 33's. His truck is great just like all of the trucks here with body lifts. They work for your purpose.

I am very satisfied with my crappy little V-6 overweighted suspension lifted beast of a truck that puts some jaws on the ground by its off road performance abilities, just as I am sure you all are satisified with your trucks and what you have done to them.

I have over 75K on my '00 V-6. I am due for something to go. I believe in Quality mods and upgrades, a clean truck even underneath, visual inspections regularly and regular service needs to extends its life as best as possible.

I will continue to post, Sorry! I am a member and I do not hide behind a screen name.

If I have truely offended you (ME or Fourbyfourtwo) or anyone I am sorry. I do agree and have stated this before that a PA Body lift is for most on this board and not because it is cheap but for what most guys are looking for it is by far the best choice but there are cons that should be pointed out.

I still would like to wheel with anyone from this board and I will go out of my way to make it happen if need be and I have.

Chris

You couldnt of said it better...hopefully I will be able to get back to hollister with you guys by late feb. just in time for the mud!!! if every thing works out, I sould be starting my swap by the middle of january. (front dana 44!!!) right now my front end is crap...when we were at hollister last december, i blew the cv boot on my pasenger side, and now i think the drivers side hub is going out/ and there is also something going on with the steering links....

Most of this is due to wheelin with 33s, having my torsine bars maxed, and not getting a proper lift in the first place...and for those who dont know me, i have wheeled with chris and many other daks...before i meet them i used to wheel pretty hard, but after blowing my transfer case, i have started to take it easy....and i have seen chris' truck in action and riden in it, and can say that it would smoke any truck that just had a body lift....

No, your okay Fourxfour, every once in a while you come across people who own driveway queens.
these people bought their Daks with a totally different application in mind. I wheel the hell out of mine too, and you are exactly right about the Cheap way VS the expensive way. I went body lift and tires first, I don't like whats available for susp lifts right now. so, unless they improve soon, I'm doing a front axle swap.
