Message: How do I check to see what size tire will fit on my truck? Will a tire shop just spend an afternoon fitting different tire sizes to see? I can't imagine them doing that for free.
Message: Just ask the tire shop and they will know without fitting tires on to it all day long. What size will fit depends on what your truck is, 2 or 4 wheel drive, and what year and what size rims you have etc..etc... The tire shop does that stuff for a living so take it to them and ask them how big you can go with you trucks set up.
Message: Thanks. I was just wondering, cause I have a 2wd and some people on this board run 31's and some say they won't fit their 2wd. I just thought each truck is a little different. Guess I'll just find a shop and see what they say. Thanks again.
Message: Some know what theyre doing but dont necessarily take their word for it. Ive had some tell me that 31x10.50s could not have come on my 98 4x4 Durango from the factory. Thats after they look in the book they got cuz they "werent sure" what size tire this popular vehicle uses and didnt want to take my word for it. Also what the book tells them is just the manufacturers largest factory size, not necessarily what size would fit if thats what you wanted.
Message: I have had good tires shops give very false info. It really sucks but I love to go back and show them they were very wrong when they insist they are right.
Never late for a Tee time or wheelin with my buddies! Always ready for both!!!
Message: I did say most shops are knowledgable and can give you the right info, I am sure you will find some that go by the book and refuse to belive anything other than what the book tells them even if the book is wrong.
