Subject: need advise, please help IP: Logged
Message: i own a gen II 96 dak 4x4 w/ 5.2 ext cab. i'm going to be installing a 2" body lift and wanted to know how big i could go with tires on the stock rims with minimal rubbing offroad. i heard i could get away with 33" tires and was pretty pumped, but i was hoping somebody with a litle more experience could help me out. i don't want to crank my torsion bar at all, just add the body lift. would i be able to fit 33" tall or have to stick with a 32" or 31" even?

Message: 32x11.5 and they will most likely rub when off-road. If you want to try the 33s, go with the BFGs 33x10.5 A/Ts. They are obviously not as wide as a 12.5 (less likely to rub) plus they will fit your stock rim better than a 12.5.

Message: With a 3" body lift 33x12.5 will work on 15x8 wheels and the only rubbing you'll get is on the frame at full turns, I have a 99 4x4 with the 3" lift and the 32x11.5 looked way to small and the 33's look jam up. I'm not sure on the 2" lift with the 33's will rub or not. I don't have my torsion bars cranked at all so a 2" with a little crank would be about the same as a 3" lift
