Message: I'm surveying you brave souls who have gone before me... I'm interested in running 33's on my factory wheels (BFG A/T's 285/75/16) on my 2001 QC. Can this be done with:
A) Rancho 3" + some trimming
or
B) PA 3" body lift + trimming
My original plans included running both lifts simultaneously, but I would like to know if I could satisfactorily get away with either one alone. I am sure that a combination of the two lifts will give plenty of clearance, but I've heard, and Rancho installation guide prohibits the suspension lift installation on body lifted vehicles. Anyone running both lifts? If so, your pics would be greatly appreciated as well as your opinions on the lift.
Thanks in Advance!

Message: M ... if you check out my pics you can see a 2000 QC with 33s and the PA 3" body lift. I did have to trim a small part of the plastic valance and plastic wheel well shield. I still get a good rub on the driver front, but only when I am in reverse, turned to the left and hit a bump. Happens when I back out the driveway, but that doesn't happen too often ... just haven't taken the time to fix it yet. LEft me know if you have any other questions.

Message: I did crank the torsion bars about 1"-1.5" mainly to level out the truck, but it did help with fitting the 33s.

Message: I had a rancho 3" suspension lift put on about 2 weeks ago and am running 285/75/16 BFG (33's). Slight trimming and it workes fine. I'm planning on adding a PA 2" body lift just for the extra space, but it's not a requirement to fit the tires.

Message: From what we've seen and heard the Rancho 3" kit will NOT fit the 2003 Dakota or Durango. To add insult to injury, I contacted Rancho and they said they have zero plans to ever offer a 3" kit for the 2003 Dakota or Durango. This is because the Dakota is due for a major overhaul in 2004 and Rancho doesn't feel it's cost effective to re-design a new kit for just the 2003 model year.

How is the ride with the Rancho? What shocks did you get? Am I correct in assuming that you have the BFG's mounted on your stock wheels? Any pics?!?!

Message: had 33 12.5's on my 01' dakota. and i was running a 16x10 rim. that was with just a body lift, and yes it required a little trimming. but since ive gone back to my stock rims, 35 12.50's, and cranked the torsion bars. works great! check it out. c-ya!

Message: My 2002 has a straight up body lift and nothing else, and I run 285/75/16 on stock rims with no trimming at all thank god. By the way I'm running Yokohama Geolander AT+ll's Not BFG's, BFG's are known to blow a bead too easily for my likings..

Message: Here are a couple of pics,.. Kinda of crappy camera.... whatever....
This is prior to me trimming the bumper, but even after the trimming you can't really tell. I'm still waiting on the body lift, maybe a week or two....

Message: Missed a couple of the questions above,.. I'm running the Rancho RS5000, the ride is great, the only thing that bothered me a little was a creaking noise I hear from time to time when turning,... I questioned the shop, but they said it was normal... aside from that I love it, no problems.. I think after the 2" body I'll be right where I want it to be,.. .not to big, not to small...
