Subject: Selling Dak - remove body lift? IP: Logged
Message: Hey, I'm selling my '01 Dak. Looking to trade it in actually. Should I remove the 3" body lift, or leave it in there? How much does doing a body lift depreciate the price of my truck?
Thanks.

Message: If you didn't have to trim any parts of the bumpers or wheel well plastic, then by all means, get that lift off the truck. Odds are, you made modifications that will F*k you.
There is no calculator that will tell you how much you ruined the resale value of your truck by doing a body lift, but you can bet it's alot!
Remove the lift if you can and hope for the best.

Message: I say it depends on the way you are trying to sell it....if you sell it to a private buyer then the body lift could be a plus....but if you are going to trade it in, or if you don't want as much money in other words...then by all means take of the body lift....put it back to close as stock as possible before taking it back in to a dealer for trade in.

Message: I dont know where your at but here, lifted trucks sell for more at the dealers then the non-lifted ones. trade-in value doesnt drop but the dealers dont get sh@t on trade-ins anyway. I would sell it privately then take the cash and put down on your new truck, You'll be better off!

Message: Thanks all. Yeah, I did some more checking locally, and I am definitely gonna sell it privately. The body lift shouldn't be a big deal, and hopefully someone will come along that wants a truck with a body lift already on it.
Thanks again.
