How can you tell when you have maxed out your torsion bars? I just had a Rancho sus lift done and now I have no way of knowing where my min and max points are. However, I dont want them totally maxed out so the torsion bars wear out in two months either.

The reason I ask is when I look at my lower control arms they slope up from the frame towards the steering knuckle, so does the CV joint. If I level them off, or reverse the slope from what it is now I can gain an inch or two. Thing is, the vehicle looks like it's riding at an even keal now so by raising the front, the front may be a bit higher than the back. Add-leaf time?

I would think that the ideal position for the front driveshafts is roughly parallel (level) to the ground. This is where they will get the least amount of wear.i would try to adjust the bars tighter to level the cv axles.if the bolt for the torsion adjustment wont tighten any more, then basically they are maxed out.Solution would be a heavier duty torsion bar.

I just cranked my torsion bars up about 1" this weekend. I took measurements from ground up to the frame, skid plate and the body(front underneath the bumper). I jacked up one side turned 2 full turns and then did the same to the other side. Checked measurements and every thing was even. I took out drove around, and when I came back I took a good look at my truck and it seems as if the driverside is sitting a little higher. So I measured from the top of the wheel hub to the ground and the driver side was a little over a half inch higher. So I measured all the other spots that I had done previously and every thing was still even.
My question is am I measuring from the right spots or is it possible that one fender is a little off from the other and I never noticed it?

You should measure from the top edge of the wheel rim to the bottom edge of fender, truck sitting on level ground. You should make the drivers side about 1/4 to 1/2 higher to compensate for your weight, then it will be level with one person (driver obviously)
