Subject: 2wd daks want a SPINDLE LIFT!? FOR REAL!

GREAT NEWS YA! i found a place that would do a spindle lift for us 2wd dakota owners! i just talked to the owner of ORCMotorsports.com (tyler). we discussed the issue of the 2wd dak not having a spindle lift on the market. he told me that at this time his business is slam packed with jobs, and for me to give him a few months and he'll get started on the issue for us. the only problem is this; he needs to hear that we really want this. i'm not talking about emails i mean calling there and asking questions about it (basically showing real interest in this lift). he told me that he needs to hear from at least 15 interested dakota owners, Gen I, II, or III it doesn't matter you Gen II owners here's your chance to get a 3-4" lift. serious ya this is not a maybe or maybe not, this is determined on you guys (and gals) and no one else. well here's their number (619) 590-0034 ask for Tyler. if ya could let Tyler know that you herd about this from josh smith (that way he knows that i'm trying to get the word out).

I'd be intrested, but $1200 is pretty high. If we get more buyers, will the price go down?

I called and put my name on the list. He said that based on the response he's received so far, they were going to do it. It's going to be another month or so though. He also said the $1200 is for the front only. They would provide a rear lift (add-a-leaf) for about $250 or so. If it is 4 inch and we don't have to buy new rims it is worth it imo.

an add-a-leaf for $250?

the whole thing sounds bad. spindle lifts on a 2WD dakota is dangerous.

Why is that ian? Whats the difference of a Dak spindle lift and a ford, or chevy, etc.? Just curious cuz I really want some spindles for my 2wd. 3in lift with no spring changing, sounds good to me... What years will this be for??? Thanks
Joe E.

I would do it if I could still use my Fabtech parts like the upper A-arm and coil springs. I'm betting the reason ian says its a bad idea is because of the geometry of this particular rack and pinion steering system. It might over extend the lower ball joints. I don't know for sure but I've heard this from a Fabtech Technician also.

Wouldn't want any other!

the way i took it you should be able to bolt these up to your stock control arms, so you should be able to bolt them up to the fabtech arms to.

i don't know, a sping over axle swap (that can be done at home) and a $1200 price tag for a full 3"-4" of lift when there's no other way to go?... hmmm.... i guess when everyone else is buying a spindle lift and riding higher then you $1200 may not sound to bad.

hey joe, long time no talk man. tyler told me that these spindles should be for all or he should make the right spindles for the right years. hell yeah dude hopfully you'll be rolling with 33's soon.
