As we all know, no one makes lift spindles for our trucks! But I was think, I'm not sure if this will work, so I'm hoping for your thoughts and imput. But would it be possible to use lift spindles from another application (F-150, S-10, Ram, CK1500....) if we used the calipers, roters, and bearings from that application. I'm sure there is alot of you out there that want to go higher than 3", I'm sure with all of us out there we can figure something out!!

I was workin on a Toyota Tacoma the other day 2wd which sat rather high. Definately higher than our Dakotas ( I actually thought is was 4wd until I got it on the lift). It was a TRD model. This truck ran a rack and pinion steering with a coil over front suspension. Just wondering why we can't come up with something similar to gain height. It seems Toyota was able to overcome the rack and pinion obsticle, why can't we? Ted

I don't think the major problem is the rack and pinion. I think the major problem is the upper arms. The frame bulges where the springs sit, the upper arms can't reach any farther down. Thats where lift spindles come in play. Arm location stays the same, spindle axle is lower, lifting the truck.

I agree ctegan, If all is needed is to move the actual location of the "Axle" on the spindle what is the ho;d up. There must be more invilved like alignment issues or something. Ted

cteagan, dude before you spend all that money on a spindle that might not work. let make some phone calls and see what i'm able to pull off. i think i've found a company in lower CA that would go for the big jump in custom spindles for us. hell maybe even a group buy. but like i said give me a day or to please.
