Subject: 33" tires

on mickeythompsontires.com they say that if i want the 33x12.50R15LT tires for my 2001 4x4, i'll need a minimum 3" body lift, and a minimum 3" suspension lift. from what i've read on here that's not true. i do have the 3" PA body lift but i didn't want to have to go with a suspension lift. can anyone divulge the truth to this, or recommend other tires?

I have BFG AT 33x12.5 with only the 3" body lift. I did have to trim a little on the bumper valance, but I think that was mainly because of the difference is backspacing. My wheels are 3.75" and factory is 5.5". There are plenty of other guys on here that are running 33's with only the 3" body lift.

I have seen 35" on a Dakota with 3" body lift, The reason that the web site says that you need 6" of lift is to clear them from all liability. If they were to say that the tires would fit with 3" of lift and the tires were to rub the frame or the body at any point during a turn then they could be involed in a mayor lawsuite.
