Subject: How much lift for 2wd IP: Logged
Message: I just bought a 2003 Dakota Quad Cab SLT 4x2.I would like to put 31x12.50x16 on 16x10 wheels. How much lift will I need to clear these tires.I will also be adding an ARB air locker in the rear. The only time I go off road is at the beach,no mud.I would rather have all suspension lift, but will put a body lift on if necessary.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Message: The Fabtech lift is for the 97'-02'. With the 3" kit you would be able to fit 31" tires on, but if you want to go 12.5" wide you might have to do some triming. What I'm going to do is the 2" leveling kit (just becausse I don't want to replace the stock 16" wheels) plus a body lift to clear room fo 31's. I'm going to try to put the 2" kit on my 03', but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Message: Do you think the 3 inch fabtech and a 2 inch body lift would work.

Message: yes that would work, but not to fit 33's, go with the 3" Fabtech and a 3" body lift and then you'll be good to go on 33's!!!

Message: If you trim you should be fine with the 3 inch fabtech. I have 3inches of suspension lift(2inchcoil spacers) and weld typhoons with 31-12.50 procomp exterrains. you will have to trim the front bumper minorly and around the inner linning in the back.
they will rub on the fender flare if you got um, but not really enough to care.

Message: Does any one know how much lift I will need to fit 35x12.50 on my 2WD 2003 Dodge Dakota Ext. Cab? Or is it even possible with out triming the fenders?

Message: Sorry to tell you this but you will never fit 35's on a 2wd with any current production lifts. The biggest you can go is 33, unless you get fiberglass fenders, or take a torch to the front suspension and fabricate a new suspension!!!
Good luck!!
