Subject: Torsion Bar Question IP: Logged
Message: I was told when tightning the torsion bars to crank the bolts up while weight is on the vehicle. Is that true?

Message: it doesnt matter. the 1st time i did mine, i used a rack, and cranked them while it was in the air. but the 2nd time i cranked them, i just did it on the ground. either way, u need to use a measuring tape to measure from the tire to the fender to make sure u get both sides the same height.

Message: its a very simple job.... just get a measuring tape, put one end of the tape where the tire and rim meet, and measure to the inner fender or fender flare. does that make sense? lol, hope so. c-ya!

Message: I would suggest that you drive around the block and then come back and measure again. Also, find a common spot on the frame on both sides of the truck and take your measurements there.
