Just bought my first vehicle ever 3 weeks ago!! (I'm only 18 and fresh out of H.S.) Got a '99 Dak club cab, 4x4, 5.2 318 motor.
I put on a Flowmaster muffler 40 original series right after the cat that flows to a y pipe into 2.5" duals straight back.
I just picked it up today from the muffler shop and was dissappointed! Tooooooo Quiet!!!!!(for me anyway)
Does anyone know if these mufflers "brake in" in a couple weeks and get a little louder caus this is just too weak for me. Has a great tone though, just want it louder.

i had the same exact set up and i agree i thought it was way to quiet so i cut off the pipes about 3 inches after the muffler. as soon as i turned my truck on it sounded waaayyy louder. and when i gas it down the street it sounded like a big block it was awsome. my truck actually sounded twice as loud as my freinds bis Chevy with flows. i still have it this way and i love my dak. my advice to you is to first try buying an air intake because that makes it louder and a better sound and if that doesnt work then cut them off and then it will sound even better than mine. thats actually what im going to do fairly soon.

I am not sure what the numbers are but in my talks with the muffler guy at the mechs place he just said we should throw a Hi flow cat for a few more horses and the change I did from a 40 series flow to a 50 series delta high flow. He said he had one he could throw on in a few minutes after he did the 40 to 50 change for me. You have to have over 60 K on your cat to remove or change it in CA.

I would say a good muffler guys could hook you up, mine did not write down the part number with the reciept.

It definatley get louder with time.

Anyone interested in buying four BRAND NEW Goodyear Wrangler MTR's? They are size 285.75 R16 (equivalent to a 33x11.50) and have not been used at all.

(if you want) The tires also come with four brand new 16x8 factory wheels from Dodge. These rims are in flawless condition as well.

I am selling this package because I have to trade my Dakota in for a car, and I don't really plan on fitting 33 inch tires on it. So take advantage of this deal because I intend to sell them at a bargain price. If you are interested please email me with questions/comments and I would be more than happy to reply. More pictures are available as well.
