Just got the wifes aproval for the lift! Should be done by middle of August.
Anyone see any problems with this set up? (yes i know about Knobbymans problems)

see any problems? Yes, EVERY dak with truckin sucks, the only ones that dont are the 97-99, which are just a copy of tc. Next problem, 37's?? Good luck, theres no way stock dak axles and every other bit of drivetrain can take the abuse.

hey V8Lum who are you to say "every" dak with the truckin lift sucks unless you tried one and know for yourself, I have the truckin 6.5in. lift with no problems (9 mos.) and I think my truck could smoke yours on or off-road anyday. don't talk about what you hear, talk from experence.

by the way we did a Durango with the 4.5in. lift with 3in. body lift with no problems either, and both Dak. and Durango are 2002's.

Yeah, i guess we who were quick to judge Truckin should only talk if we have had a bad experience ourselves with them.
As far as the set-up goes, the rear axle MAY be strong enough for 37s, but is extremely doubtful, and there is NO WAY that the 8" corporate axle in the front can take 37s, they have a hard enough time with 35s. AND if you take into account that you want super swamper boggers which are notorious for being heavy tires, i think you are out of luck.
My advice to you would be to just go with the 6.5" lift from Truckin and squeeze in some 35s, you'll still have a sick lookin rig, and chances are your truck will last longer.
Then with the money saved from the 3" body lift + installation, look into a custom front bumper or a Hanson bumper for your truck, or maybe get yourself some 4.11 or 4.56 (they are available now) for the axles with a detroit or powertrax rear locker, then you would have a sick looking ride that could be a serious off roading monster.
2002 Dakota SXT 4X4 CC 3.9L 3.92 LSD(saving up for 4.56s) with some 33X11.50 BFG All-Terrains mounted and no more rubbing!!!

hey REAL ARTHUR thanx for understanding where I'm comming from, I don't talk sh-t about anybody elses truck and would appreciate the same. as for the 4.56, I'll be having mine installed on July 10th. Hope it gets done by Fri. or Sat. I'm running 33x12.5 I'll let you know how it runs when it's done.

hey, jimbo, im guessing you 00+ am i correct? read my post over again. Your right, not EVERY dak sucks with the truckin, i think ive seen ONE successful story on here. If you get it to work, great, i didnt mean it sucks off-road or anything like that, im just saying they are notorious for being CRAP on the newer models. If your dakota is a newer model, then congrats your one of the lucky ones, but its not worth my $1500 to try and get "lucky" thanks.

As for my rear i have a 9.25 with the 3.92's LSD and will be putting in 4.86's. I've got the heavy duty xfr case and the 545-rfe tranny so i'm not really worried about pullin the 37's. My main concern was clearence. not sure if the boggers will rub a full compression. The truck will be 90% street and 10% wheelin.

The point V8 and Arthur were making is the front end will not handle your tires. the rack and pinion will go out soon after. Upper and lower BJ's will go. The steering arms and ball joints will go. You will rub. The rear is the only thing that might work out but after you lose the rear drive shaft from the Truckin lift you'll still have the rear axel in good shape.
When you go off road with those 37's bring tools!
And take a camera cause I want to see you articulate those things. Oh yeah the note on the truckin lifts about it not being designed to enhance your off road preformance might let you know about the quality of the lift. So I assume you plan to stay on road with it.
I hope you have no problems with what you want to put on, just be warned. All trucks are different and the way the driver handle the truck makes a big difference.
I like the comment Chad made back when he had his truckin lift put on, He said "Do not turn you tires while at a stands still make sure you are moving so you do not wear out the Ball joints or rack and pinion".
I am sure Truckin has made changes and their lift is better than the first ones that came out. they are still a very if'y company to do business with.

V8Lum you are correct both my Dak and my friends Durango are 2002's. Your right about the price but the rancho lift is'nt much cheaper for half the hight. And I don't think it's luck, I think it's more of knowing what your doing when installing. I've been doing lifts for years. Sorry about the earlier post, just did'nt like my truck being put down. forexfour the drive shaft on my truck is still hanging with no problems. It's angle that breaks universals not lifts. When you know what your doing, you do it right. Not have someone else do it. Then complain after.

I have tossed the idea of a truckinsuspension lift for my 1990 2wd. Its only a 3in lift using coils and upper arms. But I can never get them to give me just one name of someone who has this lift successfully on their truck. I also heard from another friend here that TS.com will list lifts for just about anything. Then when one is sold, they fab up the kit. So its not tested, has no history, and you end up like Knobbyman. Stranded.... I hope it works well for you and I cant wait to see picts. But just be cautious...

my only real point is that there is no need to go with truckin. A 3" rancho with 3" BL is enough to fit 35's. If you REALLY want 37's then your off-road ability will be limited to a mud bog now and then but articulation is gonna suck and basiclly youve got a "show" truck, do what you want but 35's with 3" rancho, 3" bl seems a much wiser choice.

Even if i did put on 35's they would be 16/35x15 Boggers on 15x10's which are too wide to put on with a 3" Rancho and a 3" body lift anyway. As for 4 wheelin, i'm not too worried, every truck i've owned had 37's or bigger and i've wheeled them all.

Hey everyone what up? No time no chat. Anywayz my truck is still cookin fine. I dented of the lower control arms but i am getting that fixed. Anyways as for the Rack and pinion steering I has to get a whole new rack and pinion sterring piece. IT sucked cause that was $500 dowen the pipes.

i've got 9.25 with 3.92's front and rear so that wont even come close to being a problem. Never buy trucks off the lot, if you order them from the factory you get to pick out everything you want and nothing you dont. Anyway, i think the set up will work fine, i've talked to 9 different 4 wheel shops (actual shops, not 4WP)and they all say the set up will work fine. I'll post pics as soon as i get the work done.

Anyone interested in buying four BRAND NEW Goodyear Wrangler MTR's? They are size 285.75 R16 (equivalent to a 33x11.50) and have not been used at all.
(if you want) The tires also come with four brand new 16x8 factory wheels from Dodge. These rims are in flawless condition as well.
I am selling this package because I have to trade my Dakota in for a car, and I don't really plan on fitting 33 inch tires on it.
