Subject: Exhaust Pipes after boy lift IP: Logged
Message: I installed the 3" body lift, and then a gibson cat-back, dual-sport rear side exit. But with the lift, the pipes hang really low, or at least that's the look you get, can only push them up so far until they hit the frame. Did anybody come up with a way to fix this, to get the tailpipes closer to the body?

Message: Took mine to the muffler shop and had them turn them up slightly (~4"). This put it a little closer then stock. You shouldn't be any lower then the 3" you raised it.

Message: I was able to turn the one side up to where I wanted it, but had to bend a new peice of pipe for the other side. My pipes are alongside my frame hitch now, and only sit about an inch below the rear bumper.

Message: Sorry to say it bud, but it's time to put some money into the dakota and get some true duals.... I had mine done for 300 bucks and I also have a body lift. The pipes are aimed straight out, one on each side... and it's right up to the body so no drooping exhaust and gay looking gap between the body and pipes... Spend the money it's worth it....
