I have a question for anyone who can help. I was looking at the explorer pro comp website for the universal bar that had been mentioned on the site. While there, I noticed a light bar on several trucks on the site, the featured ram and a couple of chevys. The light bar looks like a dual shock hoop. I was thumbing through Peterson's 4 Wheel and Off Road magazine and saw this bar being put on a Ford Super Duty (p115) They called it a prerunner hoop in the caption under the picture. It looks like it bolts right onto the bumper and would fit a dakota. My question is whether or not it is simply a shock hoop bolted on, or if it is a product that they sell as a light bar. If you guys could point me in the right direction on this one I would greatly appreciate it.

They will sell you the Universal bar for the Dakota. I have the ORI bar from Offroadwherehouse.com and it is made custom for the Kotas. It mounts with 4 bolts to the bumper and will work with or without a body lift. The only problem is you must remove the bumper to replace blinker bulbs or blinkers. I pushed a gate open with my bar and it broke both of my blinkers. oops! I will get out and open the gate next time.
