Subject: about to order my body lift! IP: Logged
Message: Hey, i'm about to order the 3" pa body lift and i was wondering what else i will need to get that the body lift kit does not come with(gap guards and things like that). Also, if anyone knows a cheaper place to get the lift than 4wheelparts.com ($206) that would be good. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Message: Call JC Whitney, they sell the PA body lift. Bought mine from them last year at around $160. The web site only lists 97-99 but they can get you the right kit if you call. May save you a few bucks.... You can get the proper part # for your exact truck from PA'S website before you call, to be sure you get the right kit.

Message: You can also save some money on the gap guards as well. I didn't feel like paying $80 for gap guards so i went to Home Depot. and got some thick rubber matting that i paid about $5 for and then trimmed to fit. Followed up w/ some riveting to hold it in place. Including a new rivet gun, rivets, rubber matting i think it costs about $30-$35, and it looks good too.

Message: FYI...the gap guards are not cut even close. You could prolly make your own better. I regret not doing that. Although if you get enough push pins in them, they look ok when your done.

Message: I think that the best deal for PA 3" lift and gap guards can be found at tyres1.com (not shown on their website, but they do carry it for your truck). FYI, JC Whitney does not sell the gap guards ... they can special order them for like $80. If you plan to make your own guards, then JC Whitney is probably your best bet since they offer free shipping or 10% off.
Good luck, Tracy
