Subject: Rim/tire fit questions IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2" susp. and 3" body lift on my 97 4wd and right now I'm running 33x10.50's on my stock rims, with no rub. I wanna get some 33x12.50 tires with some new rims. Can I put those on 15x8's or do I need to get 15x10's? Also, will I get any serious rubbing with 15x10's and 33x12.50's with only that much lift? I saw a deal on 4wheelparts.com for some 15x10's and 33x12.50's that I'd like to get if I can do it with minimal rubbing. I've heard something about putting some sort of spacers in behind the wheel to push them out farther to eliminate some of that problem. Will that be necessary and if so, where can I get them?

Message: If i were you i would stick w/ the 15x8 wheels. The 15x10 will more than likely cause you more problems w/ rubbing than what you want. The 33x12.5x15 will fit fine on a 15x8 wheel. W/ your lift you should be ok w/ the 33x12.5 and the 15x8 wheels depending on the backspacing(3.25-4.5). You may only need to do minor trimming on the front lower valance if the tire comes in contact w/ it. I have the same set up of the 15x8 OE wheels and 33x10.5 w/ no problems, and have ordered 15x8 wheels (from 4wheel parts)and the 33x12.5 tires. You should be fine.
