Message:
I have about 5 pics of my dakota with the 3" body lift. They are on my website:
http://www.geocities.com/dacoada/index
The pictures really don't do it justice. It looks much bigger and meaner in person.
Check it out and let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Corey Coad

Great looking truck!
Are those 15"x8" rims with 3.75" backspacing?
Did you crank up the torsion bars to match the 1" block you put on the rear?
I know on the off-road board you said you had "minor rubbing" Did you trim the flares or bumper any?
Man I can't wait to lift mine!!!

I haven't trimmed the rub spots yet, but I probably will tommorow because I'm going to do some snow on sunday. The rims are 15x8's. I am almost possitive that they are 3.25" backspacing. That is what the website said.
The Xterrain tires make it look so mean. I love these tires.
Thanks,
Corey

your truck looks real tuff. i have one little suggestion you could do which i think makes your truck look a little taller and smoother at the same time. peel off the stickers on the doors and the tail gate. i have a bright blue reg. cab. i did this, and i think just doing this alone made it look taller. just a suggestion, but it looks sweet anyway.

Definately remove the decals. I have a black 2001 4X4 CC w/black leer topper and I removed my decals. Looks much better, and thats not just my opinion, I've had alot of people say it looks much better without them.

I got the 1" lift block from a local 4x4 shop. It is basically just a plain old lift block. I almost went with a 2" block, but decided on the 1". 4wheelparts has the blocks also.
Thanks,
Corey

What brand of lift block did you get and how much did they cost? I checked all the local customization shops today and they have no fitament for Dakotas listed. I found a local shop that can custom fab the blocks for about $80.00 which doesn't sound like to bad of a deal. Also did you have to crank your torsion bars to the maximum to level truck? Thanks again for the info!!

The lift blocks were I beleive around 20-30 bucks. You also need longer u-bolts, but there is a procomp ubolt kit for that. My torsion bars were already cranked when I got it. The front was 1/4" taller than the rear. After the 1" block the rear is 1/4" taller. I did the math and you would think it would be 3/4" taller now, but oh well. It works for me.
The block is just a plain standard 1" lift block. You should be able to get them from 4wheelparts. Try calling their 800 #. If you can't find them anywhere, then I could get you some from Salem Offroad here in Oregon and send them to you.
Thanks,
Corey

Sorry to bother you again Corey, but are your lift blocks tapered to keep drive line angle ok? Oh, and I called 4wheelparts and several other companies and they do not have anything listed for Dakotas? The local shop can make blocks from steel with longer u-bolts for less than $100, but blocks are not tapered so drive line angle will be altered which leads to premature wear on u-joints, seals, etc. Since your bars are cranked, are they to the max and how does it ride, any problems with front end clunking from bars being cranked and could you use stock shocks? Thanks for the help, I like to be informed before I jump into something and do want to add the extra inch. I might just have to send you the $$ to get them from Salem Offroad and put on what has worked for you.
