I have a 2wd '93 dakota and my friend has a 97 2wd s-10. When we are "burning out" or doing donuts, only one of my tires spin but both of his spin. He says I have a limited slip, and that he has a posi rear end. I tell him that those two are these same with different names. But im not sure. What do we have?

You are absolutely right. You have an open carrier and your friend has a posi or limited slip or whatever you wanna call it. An open diff is meant for normal street driving only. Anywhere that traction is needed a posi or locker will win every time. Hope it helps
