Subject: fabtech 3" rim advice
IP: Logged

Message:
I have a 2000 2wd cc. Im gonna be putting a 3" fabtech lift and maybe a 3" body lift(i dont like them but it might have to go on there too). Anyways i was wondering if eagle 589 15x8 wheels work well and how much trimming will i need to fit 33's with the body or 32's with out? I know theres a couple questions but the rims are what i really want to find out about

with the fab only , you can fit 31's with 15x8 and 32's with 15x7 and both would have to do trimming , but it's only to the lower valance and the interior black linning of the innner fender well , if done right can't even tell , use a sharp knife , and the rubbing is when going into driveways or real sharp turns into driveways ..................33's need both fab and body and trimming , all need trimming ......

yo diddler, doubt that is true. I put on a fabtech 3" and 31x10.5's and had to trim quite a bit. to say you have only a 2" susp lift on a 2wd and are running 31's with no trimming and NEVER rub is mighty suspect.
Me, just count on needing the 3" fabtech for 31's and 3+3 for the 33's. and some trimming for sure.

since we have smartazzes in here let me lay it out for u. a stock dodge sits 2 inches higher in the rear. I ordered a 2inch lift for the front, this should have leveled my truck out. after the the lift was installed the front of my truck sat a lot higher than the rear. I put 6inch shackles in ther rear, this lifted my rear 3 inches because you only get half the lenght of the shackle. after the shackles were installed my truck leveled out. now do the math the rear already sits 2 inches higher, if it is lifted 3 inches that means the front has to be lifted 5 inches to be level. dont ask me why this happen i dont know. but it did. the springs were put on 2 months ago and they have not started sagging yet.

All you're saying is speculation , what where the measurements from the floor to the fender ????? in front and back ?????? the truck sits about 2" taller , you put the 3" in the front and put the add a leaf in the back which gives you 1 1/2" the truck sits about 1/4 to 1/2 taller in the rear ....You want it to look like stock you need to lift it 2 or 2 1/2 in the rear , but here's the catch .......Stock it wasn't leveled to begin , it sits higher in the back ....and there you go , give measurements from the floor to the fender in the rear and front ???????? I'll go do mine right now .......the rear 37" from the floor , the front 36 3/4" from the floor ...... 4 1/2 my ass , and yes I'm a smart ass ..............

Different lift heights due to different engines... ? Also a 4x4 would have different lift specs to begin with would it not? Mine came stock w/31's (2000 4.7) and they don't rub. Where is all the mix up?

4x4 don't have coil springs , and fabtech has two different springs for engine sizes , so that could be , but as far as height goes , if you would use a v8 spring in a v6 truck , it would be 1/2 taller the most than v8 , you have a place for a spring and the lenght it could be , longer than that it wouldn't fit and you would hit your rebound stops on the spring nipple and not give you anymore height .......

Anyone interested in buying four BRAND NEW Goodyear Wrangler MTR's? They are size 285.75 R16 (equivalent to a 33x11.50) and have not been used at all.

(if you want) The tires also come with four brand new 16x8 factory wheels from Dodge. These rims are in flawless condition as well.

I am selling this package because I have to trade my Dakota in for a car, and I don't really plan on fitting 33 inch tires on it. So take advantage of this deal because I intend to sell them at a bargain price. If you are interested please email me with questions/comments and I would be more than happy to reply. More pictures are available as well.
