I am wanting to put 31x11.00x15 on my 94 dak. I am going to get 15x8 rims. The question i have is how does the backspacing work? I want the tires to stick out so that they dont rub and i also want them out enough to notice it because i like that look. if i want them to stick out, do i go with more backspacing or less. This might be a dumb question but try to help.Like if the backspacing is say 5.25" is that going to stick out more than a say 3.25" backspacing.

Thanks, Steve

Less BS makes them stick out more. stock of 5.5, change that to 4.5 or 3.5 and it will stick out .5 inches more on each side of the rim. If you change your tire width then you will need to add half of what you added extra to each side of the rim. Now if you go bigger and wider now you are messing with the turn radius of where the tire will arch if you lessen the BS so you now may create a rubbing situation where you never rubbed before.

I had a post around here somewhere to help understand what the BS, tire width and rim width to help you visualize before you buy but I ma not sure what happened to it.

Never late for a Tee time or wheelin with my buddies! Always ready for both!!!
