Message: I just did a quick search and found this. It's not on a government web page so it might not be 100% accurate but it sure reads like all that law mumbo-jumbo. Hopefully you'll be able to find what you're looking for.

As far as inspections go, it sucks. We have to get inspected once every year. If you ask me, it's a ripoff. I don't see the point in inspecting a brand new truck. My guy at the shop just looked out the window, saw that it was new, and handed me the sticker to put on myself cause he was dirty. As far as the cost, I can't really remember. It's anywhere from $15 to $25 bucks. Maybe a little more or less. But I can't remember the exact figure. I'll check tonight if you really want to know the exact price of if it's way off from what I just said.
In VA, if you do a little searching, there's always a shop somewhere that will slap a sticker on anything with 4 wheels and wasn't pushed into the shop. If you want to go that route.
I don't think you'll run into much of a problem with the ride height. That is unless you run into a pain in the arse cop. There's one where I used to live that would pull us all over as we left school and whip out the measuring tape to check the height. But that's rare. There are pleanty of trucks around that are raised and several are higher than yours.
BTW, where are you moving? If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I'll help you out the best I can.

Message: I may or may not be moving to virginia beach. If not I may still register and insure my truck down there anyway because up here in jersey your truck cant be any higher than 9in from stock and your wheel flares have to reach out passed the width of your tires and I like my tires to be wider than the truck.
I figureright now i have 6.5in suspension, plus I went from 31x10.5 to 35x12.5 that would add two more inches and the tires still rub so i have to give it another 3in body lift and that would be a total of 11.5 total inches.
By the way thanks for the feedback.

Again, this isn't a government page, but it's got some good links.
