Subject: shifter mod on '98 when lifting IP: Logged
Message: I've been reading up on all the body lifts being done. I'm gonna put a 3 in. body lift on, but I have a 5-speed and am worried bout the shifter problem. I have a 98, and I've noticed that no one with a 98 seems to have the radiator hose problems or has to bend the shifter. Is that really true? or am I missing something I just want to know what I'm in for. Thanks

Message: When I put my body lift on I made a 3" extension for my shifter. It also hits the console that goes around the shifter opening. I don't know if the extension caused this or what. I need to take the shifter out and bend it a little. I don't really remember how i made the extension. I think that the shifter threads onto a shaft coming out of the tranny. I just made a real long "nut" and got a bolt and cut the head off and that made the extension. You will see when you get in there. No radiator problems at all.
