Im not a redneck I just enjoy the hobby and I love lifted trucks...Nothing against rednecks I off road with them all the time...I live in the city tho, and my lifted Dak gets much more attention then ur lowered truck that can haul flowers and a quarter sheet of plywood.

Thanx i prefer to go fast over pot holes and not have to stop for every Fing pebble in the road cause i dotn want to punch a hole in my tranny or oil pan. I like the way lowered trucs look but I would never own one.

Guys, guys, guys...don't pay these kids any mind. They're just trying to get you all mad because all they can afford is a broken trike from the goodwill outlet. This is a rediculous arguement because everyone has opinions and personal taste. If we didn't then we would all drive the exact same vehicle, which would suck especially if it was a rusty pinto like Jayy's. I personally like riding high, but I like the look of a lowered muscle truck burnin it up at the track. Anyways, little girls like Jayy is why I left this forum for the most part. Man I love this Zoo. First off Jayy, You are wrong to come pissing in the 4x4's wheaties about being redneck. I'm pretty damn redneck myself, but my truck isn't lifted or jacked up. It Goes the otherway, it's lowered (and contrary to popular belief it's not cause I can't get it up, it stays up).
It's lowered because when I want to go off road I have a 1985 CJ5 POS that I use.
It's also lowered because my wife is 4'10" tall. It's lowered because I want it to be.
I want it to be because it reduces frontal wind drag, and handles better in the curves and corners, and isn't intrusive or gaudy.
It's lowered cause I think it looks better than a stock height truck and it's a 2x4 and not a 4x4 so lifting is out of the question.
I can haul as much or more of a load than a lifted 4x4, because once I get the load on the truck I don't have to worry about flipping it over going around the corner or curve. (and yes I can haul a load in my lowered truck 3/4 ton matter of fact)
I like my Lowered Muscle Truck, just like the 4x4 crowd likes their lifted trucks. I'm not here to call anyone names just because they feel they need a truck for completely different purposes than I. Maybe if I couldn't afford to license, insure and own more than 1 vehicle, I might have reconsidered my purchase and gotten a 4x4, but since I can, I have a beater off road vehicle and my lowered truck. And any thing I can't haul in my truck I have a 16' trailer to pull it on. (amazing thing though, I bought the trailer to haul my race cars on, but it's hauled 2 times as many broken 4x4's on it as I have my race cars, and I have 2 of them, every time my freinds break something off roading they call my lowered truck and trailer to pull them home)
Man Can't you guys find some peace some where, instead of calling each other names like 12 year olds. And Accept the fact that, Billy-Bob with his 4x4 is just as happy as Bubba is with his Lowered Truck.

hey, i have been through the lowrider thing and beaten the crap out of many trucks. I am a redneck and thats why i drive a truck. i am now into the 4wd thing and cant believe how much more fun it is to drive through 2 ft deep mud then scraping the rivets off the frame on a speed bump. i will own another lowrider, but always a 4x4 too. If its 2WD Slam It! If its 4WD Jack it up!

Seriously though, I am a Redneck, from a small town in south FLA, family has been here for decades. It just burns me when people talk crap about something they dont know about.
Obviously I like lifted trucks too. The mud and sand is just way too fun to miss. I also get to run in a CJ5 thats a good lil tank. Plus an old willies from the 40s that we cut down, or up to run 40s and have dog boxes and stuff on. Yall really should try off roading someday, its a blast.

Hey, I lived in a small town near Ft. Myers called Labelle for most of my life. I just moved to Gainesville for school last summer. I live off Archer and 75 intersection. I will admit.... It had to take moving into the sticks to find out that Doohahs (rednecks) enjoy lowered vehicles as much as 4X4n. I will admit too that raised trucks are kindof kwel and it takes more thought than a body lift. Matter of fact..... today one of them "rednecks" helped me cut some more of the bed out to lay frame. I'm gonna show him how to lay sparks and hes gonna let me go muddin in his quad cab. I guess you can call us interracial :)

I'm living outside of Chicago now...we had quite a few spots to go 4 wheeling, a place we called "polecat" out towards Interlachen was one of our favorite's but I think the cops and forest rangers ran everyone out of there...a maze of trails and swamps...I can't remember the County roads to get out there. Its been over 6 years since I've been down there. Have you been to Morrison for the giant Super Bowl / 4 wheeling party? I used to hang with some guys from the Ocala Jeep club but like I said, its been quite a while ago.

acually..... trucks have been lowered since the 70's. Mostly to push dragsters and ofcourse, pachukos (sp). And you had to buy american cause they only offer the power to push dragsters and to take the hydolics. Another point is to watch "Daze and Confussed". Truck in the movie is lowered with 10" wide rims. A-Team Vans another even though its not a truck.... same style. Who here seen "Chich & Chong" Nope, minitruckers are breeded from different parents. Thats probably why there isn't a class in Hot Import Nights (at least I don't think there is).
Here's another food for thought. Import racing started in the 60's! Volkswagons have been known to put a little bit of a hurtin on the american crowd. Matter of fact there where a few that use to do all kinds of hurtin at the Orange County Speedway. There wasn't an Import class(if you could imagine) so they got tossed into the same brackets as Dodge, Chebby, and Ferd.
So don't get all swole about it. Us lower class, dirty, import fead, mini truckers are no match for you highly educated, upperclass, gleaming clean, all american, wood landed citizens. Besides, its too easy to poke back at this low of a level
