Isnt it cool how a bunch of 4x4/offroad guys can get together and BS, shoot the bull, and talk about their trucks without some stupid competition and jealousy and envy? I doubt other message boards can make that claim! I think we all take our trucks and go a different direction. Some have suspension lifts, some have body lifts, some have neither, and we all get along somehow.
I think as long as people dont get all caught up competing with each other, it all works out...

Lesley you got me with the Canadian bugs. Dont get many of them here in Florida. BUT, I got a K&N filter in a HOMEADE INTAKE using the STOCK airbox. So NAH! Hehehehehe

I just got aproved for a apartment WHOO HOO sorry.. abit happy I'm 21 NEW TRUCK & first apartment.. but all of you know that if u put those two together. You end up with NO cash :(. So until my next raise I'll just pretend I have a lifted truck & bigger tires :-)

Well... i am 21...have my own DAK.. (which is almost paid off...YIPEE!!) NO house, NO apt! So there! LOL I justlive in my DAK. Save money that way.
ACtually, i just rent, or sleep at the fire house for free. :)
Im saving up for that house...someday.

Thats ok Knobby you can still hang out here. Andrew I really like my setup. I dont ave te sotck airhat though. I replaced it with a 3 inch rubber 90. Dont think it would work on yours because you have a different TB than me. You might be able to do what I did on my wifes 5.2. Basically the same as mine. Just remove the snorkel from the front of the airbox, put in a drop in K&N, and then I cut 2 holes into each side of the box and one opposite the factory hole. Just kept the stock airhat. Lets it pull air from all the way around instead of just through the factory hole.

Dakota, that's a good idea, I just bought one of those Sport Truck Tentz, I could just live in my dak.
Nice truck Tiger Dak... when I went to the site some of the graphic icons showed the ripped error message, so i just dropped them on the desktop & opened them in photoshop. My mechanic just did a gorgeous job on a convertible Dak, I will try to get a pic of it. White, around '88 I think, with a new magnum V8, lots of neat shiny stuff in the engine compartment. Big chrome rims. Also, gold badging. I've never seen that before.
Hawkeye, I'd be happy to ship you some Canuck bugs! I went up north past Sudbury last year and had a dragonfly as big as a pterodactyl embedded in my grill.

Yaaa....well..i just got a new mod that will blow all of you away. It is worth like..20-40 extra horse! I got..........................................
New rims! LOL. And there not even painted yellow! Imgaine thepower gains had they been that bright bumble bee yellow..LOOK OUT!
But in all seriousness, I did get new rims (15x8, Ameriacn Eagle 589's) mounted on my Dunlop 31'ers... Truck now sits, 4 inches WIDER. I didnt realize how much (little actually) backspacing was in the new rims. The truck now looks mean. Ill have a photo up a little later to show you all.
I love this..every week something gets added of the DAK proves itself to me...and I fall in love with it all over again.
Ahhh... what a great day.

miles, if all I cared about was big tires, I might as well have gottoen a Toyota 4x4. On the other hand I made the smart decision and gotten a truck that has it all, decent tires, powerfull motor and great running gear.
Dakota, I plan on getting the same size rims and have the same size tires. Do you mean it is 4" wider than with the old tires or the old rims?

The stance is 4" wider yes. Because of the backspacing...or lack there of. Ill get a photo up a bit later and you can see what I mean by it.

I laughed so hard when I saw that... I scared the cat:-)! Is that the original Bigfoot? I remember my ex going to see him years ago with his offroading friends. I watched a show a couple of weeks ago on those HUGE mining trucks, now they have big wheels. Apparently each wheel has its own engine to drive it!

There are a whole crap load of Big Foots now.. I think that picture said '95 on it.. so no it's not a original just a truck that can move some BIG!! tires.. I'm not sure about the markings on the side of them but I think the 68 stands for the rim size in inches & the 48 was the rubber above the rim.. which makes those tires stand 13' 8" tall :-) ... now I'd like to see anyone of the DAK engines even attempt to move that... I guess w/ the right gearing they'd move.. but not very fast.
