I have 3" body lift on my '97 Club Cab. I was wondering if anyone knows how I can mount nerf bars onto my frame without drilling on those bracket type things that the lift blocks sit on and have nerf bars mounted on them as well. Can I just bolt my nerf bars on the bottoms of those brackets and use the same bolt to run up through the nerf bar mounts up into the body lift blocks? Or is there some other way of going about that? I'd really like some good detailed input on how to do this so I don't have to get my nerf bars mounted at some shop and pay for it and I can do it myself. My truck already had the lift on it when I got it, so I'm not exactly sure if the body lift is atypical from what other people might have because I didn't do that myself but it looks like just an octogonal type block on those brackets on the frame with one large bolt running up through them, with some sort of rubber padding on both sides of the bracket. If you need any more explanation, just let me know and I'll do my best.

you could mount nerf bars exactly like you've described, but they'll be 3" too low because of the body lift. another member here has a set of MAAP bars that are adjustable(i have them on order), do a search, you'll see them.

I don't really mind them being 3" lower because I also have a 4" suspension lift so I would actually prefer them to be at that height. Would i have to get a longer bolt than the factory bolt or should that be long enough? I really don't have the time to take out the bolts and check only to find that they're not long enough because I'm going to have to go over to my friend's place to put them on since I don't have a torque wrench. So if anyone has done this before or if you would know if those factory bolts are going to be long enough, please let me know. Thanks.

I have smittybilt nerfs and they mount to the body. I had a buddy fab a bracket for me so they could mount at the right height. (I have a 3" body lift) Check out my pics if your interested.
