Subject: tire question IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 2wd dakota and I have read some posts on this forum and found a guy who put 31X12.5 tires on his 2wd and all he had was a 2 inch coil spacers and add a leafs. What I was wondering is could I go with this same setup with a 3 inch body lift of course with some trimming. my stock ride height is 32.5 in the front and 34 in the rear if that helps

Message: Yeah it's basically the same thing, you are making more room for bigger meats.

Message: Another question...would it be better to go with a 15X10 or I have seen some people get away with a 15X8? Basically I'm looking at how much it will rub. I don't mind doing some trimming if necessary.

Message: you can use a 15x8 up to a 36" tire. that's what i would stick with on your dakota.
