The place is called
CST Performance Suspension
cstsuspension.com (not finished yet but check out the project truck)

I called. They are a suspension parts manufacturer. The guy said that they stopped making lifts for the Dakota about 1 year ago.

Nobody has the CST Dakota arms in stock - trust me on this. In fact, as far as I know I have the only set of prototype 2000+ arms on my own 2wd Dakota that is sitting out in the driveway. I am friends with CST and they used my Dakota as the test truck for their 2000+ kit. Based on my feedback and the lack of sales the Dakota kit was all but scraped. The Dakota just is NOT easy to lift without spending lots of money. Don't get me wrong, a lifted Dakota is a great thing... but the simple upper control arm and 3" spring thing is not going to be enough for somebody that really wants to have fun in the dirt. Not that it makes a big difference now that CST has discontinued the Dakota kit... but I'd like to say that a full replacement spring was included in their kit, not just a spacer. The spacer was offered but so was a 3" lift spring.

If anyone wants to buy JUST the Fabtech Dakota control arm kit the price is $449 plus shipping and CA sales tax if you live in California. The Fabtech arm kit also includes new upper ball-joints. Keep in mind that Fabtech suggests these arms be used on the 1997-1999 trucks only - the reason why CST used my 2000 to design a new arm for the 2000+ vehicles.

I bet my Dakota has seen more abuse than most - it's been to Baja (Mexico) a few times and has been used to prerun and chase the race truck. It's been jumped and thumped and it has never let me down. One thing the truck lacks is suspension travel and the Fabtech control arm kit will not fix this. If you want a lift for looks the Fabtech is great. If you want a more competent off-roader leave the suspension at stock height or spend a bunch of money re-working the front end.

If anyone has Dakota lift questions feel free to e-mail me at Jeff@PerformanceLifts.com

On a side note... if enough Dakota owners ordered a CST kit they still have the jigs used to make my arms... just because they quit making them doesn't mean they can't start again.

Thanks,

Jeff @ PLC

To add to my last post...

CST's arms also require a wheel with less backspacing. I am running the factory 15x8 wheels with 31x10.5R15 BFG M/Ts. I used a .75" thick billet spacer that let me retain my stock wheels. These spacers run $100 bucks and I've put them through hell. They have over 80,000 miles on them and quite a few of those are off-road. The spacers are not going to fail - simple as that. The downside is the front tires stick out past the front fender line about .5" inches and get the truck pretty dirty when it's raining, snowing, or if there is water on the road. I've got 80,000 miles of use on this lift and haven't replaced a single suspension related item. No ball-joints, no tie rod ends, nothing.
