I am ordering mine monday and it is $164 including tax/shipping. 4wheel parts has them for $210 not including shipping, and Desert Rat has them at $207 including shipping. I called all 3 places and the kits include everything. Just thought I would let everyone know.

Which Performance Accessories 3in. kit did you find at Summit for $157? I could only find the 60043 kit for the 2000 4x4 for $190.

Message: I've written 4wheelparts.com about a package discount twice now (305's, BL, & gap guards). They never return my emails. I figure that's a bad sign. If they don't care before they sell the stuff, they won't care when it's missing a bolt for the cab or something either. I'll shop somewhere else I guess. Just my $.02. Ebay has the lift for $169.99 plus shipping.

Message: 4wheelpart.com offers a low price guarantee, but what good is that if no one will reply to your emails. All I need is the lift kit and gap guards, so a large order discount does me no good. I think that I would rather buy from Summit Racing than eBay. Their price of $189.95 includes shipping and I'm sure that you would get much better service if you had a missing part than some person selling on eBay. I'm not knocking eBay as I sell stuff there myself, but I think that I want a well known company like Summit to call when I have questions. Still don't know where Kevin got a price of $157! Maybe he is talking about a 2" lift.

Message: Good point. Ebay probably wouldn't be the best choice there. I'd go with Summit too. See if they'll do a package deal for us. 8-) two BL and gap guards. I'd be game. They'd have to ship them to different addresses though.

Message: Give "RC" a call over at Central4WD, I picked up a 60043 for $175 on Saturday. Look Back in the old group buys, page 7, and there is a price listed there. I told him on Saturday I would let people know that he is still honoring it. Looks like people that took advantage of it this summer where getting them for ~$250(Body Lift, Gap Guard, and Shipping).
Call 800-676-2325 Ask for "RC". Tell him your in the Dakota Club. You don't have to be a member.

Message: Matt,
Is that a shipped price for the 60043? Did you get the gap guards too? If so, what was the price for them? If these do not include shipping then $250 is the same price that you can pick them up for at Summit right now.
Thanks, Tracy

Message: I live 20 minutes away from 2 Central4wds, so I was able to pick mine up and not have to pay for shipping, after taxes mine was $188. The $250 is for shipping, gapguards, and the body lift. Go to page 7 of the group buys and see what people were getting them for there, also there is a price list there.

I am also thinking of a lift kit for my Dakota. I know there are 2 or 3" body lift kits available. Are there pros/cons (besides height of course) to either ? And, what I'm even more interested in is, what are the biggest tires I can put on my dakota with either of these kits ?

I have a 2000, 4WD. I want to know what you did to yours. That is what I want - looks great ! But, a suspension lift is pretty much out of the question - to expensive for me. I can't tell from the pic what you have.

Message: I have the Performance Accessories 3" body lift with 15x8 Eagle Alloy 589s and 33x12.50 BFG A/Ts.
I highly recommend this lift and have had no problems with it at all. Sure, if they were the same price as a suspension lift, I would have bought a suspension lift. But I can't justify spending 10 times as much for the lift and install just to run larger tires which is all I really wanted to do. With the 3" PA body lift, I can have the same height and run the same size tires. I hardly ever do any off-roading, so a body lift was just right for me.
If you check out my photo album, you will be able to see that mine is a body lift. You can see a little bit of the frame underneath but it's really not that bad.

Message: 97_blk_dak Nice looking truck! I have an 01 QC 4x4 that I plan to put the 3" body lift and 33" tires on, but before I order my new tires what is the backspacing that you have on your rims? Do you rub at all?
Also where did you get the clear corners and the new grill inserts? They look sweet on your all black truck?

| RE: Cheap Body Lift IP: Logged
Message: Thanks Scott! My wheels are 15x8 Eagle Alloy 589s with a backspacing of 3.25". Because the backspacing is so low, I had to raise my torsion bars to level out the truck and also trim the lower bumper valance and bottoms of the fender flares behind the wheels to get rid of the rubbing. I still sometimes rub if I hit a hard bump while turning. If I were you, I would try to find a wheel with a backspacing a little higher so you don't have as much rubbing. If you stick between 4" and 5" you should be fine, but the 589s will work if you don't mind doing a little trimming.
The grill inserts are Street Scenes grill inserts and the clear corners came with the new Euro Headlights that I bought through the group buy here. I have been very happy with them both.

Message: ANYONE INTERESTED IN A GROUP BUY ON THE 3" PERFORMANCE ACCESSORIES BODY LIFT KIT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!
I have contacted Central4wd.com & Tyres.com and they have both expressed interest in a group buy if we can get enough people (10 or more). Central4wd quoted me prices of $168 (normally $185) for the body lift and $53 (normally $59) for the gap guards. I have to call Tyres.com back on Thursday, but I'm hopeful that their prices will be even better, since their normal prices are lower, $180 & $49. These prices are good for all 1997-2002 Dakotas 2wd & 4wd and do not include shipping. Shipping from both places was about the same and averaged between $10-$25 depending on where you live. If you are interested or know of someone who is, you can simply respond to this forum or email me directly.
Thanks, Tracy
hammies3@yahoo.com
I hope to get this done in the next couple of weeks and I am #1 on the list.
