Hey forexfour - why don't you wash that thing up and post a few pics of it in your driveway so offroad wannabe's like me can see how this thing is going to look on our trucks. You've got your truck so flexed and twisted I can barely tell what's going on!!!! Who knew our Daks were capable of that????

XTRM,

Bummer!!! We were very lucky to get ours.

Can anyone help me out with some rims to get??? I need some 16" rims with 5" of BS. I also need to find 15" rims with 4" of BS. I checked out 4 wheel parts options any where else with some other options? I guess I am just gonna cal around tomorrow and try and find some new torsion bars. I have it scheduled for Friday for the alignment. I think when it is aligned the tires will not rub on the ball joint, it appears that the tires angle out at the bottom.

McCracken,

I took some photo's after the wash and made a comparison on this page:

Oh my!!!!

McCracken Rancho does not hate you they are just making you appriciate lift more when you get it!

Kevin,
I NEED RIMS!!! We wheeled for a few hours but you missed it all. We explored parts of Hollister I have never been to before. I never realized how many trails we had not been on behind five fingers I think it is. I brought a female friend of mine and that was priceless!!! Eyes closed, I want to get out, I want to get out!!!! It was heel a funny! Then Craig was making it worse when he guide me through the rut wash out!!! She will not be going back!!!

EB,
Clear Creek is off of highway 25 between Coalinga and the Pinnacales or I guess Hollister the closest city north. It is a great place to wheel!

River,
Talk to me!!! Will my 33x12.5x15 MT's fit on them. Since they are on 7" wide I thought they could not handle the 12.5's??? Also how are they gonna sit? What is the difference in how the 7's and the 8's affect the backspacing. Off of stock rims I need no more than 1.5 inches I think to clear the Upper but I have not even tried to see how bad the do not fit on stock yet so I am guessing. I only know what the mech said, they do not fit.
Kevin is trying to hook me up with some rims for my MT to just thrash. But price is the key for those since I was not planning on buying rims.

I am looking for 16" rims to hold my 285x75x16's but I only need .5" of BS less than stocksince I am running them now and it just barly touches the upper ball joint.

River,
Also I am planning a group meet in LA with the ORW group I hang with. I have never wheeled in the LA area would love to hook up. It will be from Easter weekend through the next weekend, I think 4-26 is the actual meet but I am open that whole week and trying to plan some Magic Mtn time and some golf time and a couple of wheelin days.
Let me know if you want to hook up!

Hey xtrm,

I went to the dodge dealer today and talked to the parts guy that My mechanic and I know, only guy I like at my local dodge dealer, and it seems as though the torsion bars for the v-8's are heavier duty but fit in the same torsion bracket and lower control arm. So we deducted that they are heavier duty for the v-8 which make sense since it weighs more but who knows. I had to order them from Detroit so I ordered them 2-day air. I really need to get the alignment done and the brake lines changed so I rescheduled for Tuesday. I will know Monday what the difference is. So you know, I think we checked all of the possible problems or area's that may be different in the 2 part #s but we can not find anything different, length, hex head size, quad , club, standard cabs.

Ian,

Do you have the Rancho lift? It is the new steering spindles that are the problem. I am running the stock 16x8 rims. I think when I get alignment done it will be ok. It looks like the tires are toed out. I will know tomorrow.

I had no problems with these tires without the lift.

Forexfour, I thought I had read that tranny brackets were being removed or cut with the new lift kit. My question was if there were issues with the 5 speed or just with the automatic.
Or possibly I just misunderstood what was being done.

Ya know I do not know what the diff is between auto and stick. I can only tell you this. The crossmember that is cut out is the on that the Tranny rests on. Now this is re-installed with the new brackets that you install that lower the crossmember. Once the cross member is lowered then the tranny has to be held up in place with the new tranny blocks that basically hold the tranny in its original place.

Here is a photo of what it looks like when done.

Before with Crossmember cut:

After with all in place:

Maybe this helps.

Actually it's $1385 including shipping and Rancho's top of the line adjustable shocks (RS9000X, I think it's called). Central 4WD, 800-676-2325, ask for Rich Novo. I just got off the phone w/ him regarding my lift I ordered 2/14. He's saying middle of March, which is pretty much right now. I don't know, maybe a week or two more until I have it (fingers crossed).

How are everyone's lifts holding up so far?

Dodge is F'n me, my torsion bars that were to be here in 2 days, only one came in and the other is MIA. They were sent from 2 different locations, Why, they had 273 of them in Detroit where the one I got came from. So my last item the alignment has still not been done.

Cool Blackdak!!!

Cracken,

I paid $88 per hour and it took 13 hours. This was for one guy. If the guy is not good in all aspects of the lift, then it will take him longer. I hope you read the issues that arose when they installed mine nothing major just good FYI for the installer to help make it go quicker less head scratching.

I just got my front custom skid plate on. Looks good but needs paint. I will get photo's after I get my truck back. I also recieved my new torsion bars for the 5.9's. They are heavier duty and measure up the same as the others. I am having those put on today, also the new brake lines I received from Rancho last week. Then an aligment and I should be set.

I post more photo's when done.
