Subject: drop shackle hangers.... IP: Logged
Message: well they provide a nice lift, if you dont install the shackles back in the hangers, and install the leafs right into the hangers! lol, i accidently did this while installing my shackle hangers, i gave me about a 3-4 inch lift in the back. it felt very stiff, needless to say i didnt test it out, i went back and installed my drop the right way!
just thought it was pretty humorous, and maybe even some help (somehow!)

Message: When you drop the shackle you are lowering the point the leaf springs attach, thus giving you a little lift. Say if the leaf spring attaches at the very bottom of the frame and you put a drop shackle in that is 2 inches, you will raise the rear end. Hope that helped.

Message: i wish i had a diagram to show, but fort worth basically stated how it happened... except it provided ALOT of lift, compared to stock, i want to say it gave me 3 if not 4 inches lift. the drop shackles hangers are meant to have the actually shackle put back in it, i accidently left it out...

Message: Shackles dont offer that much lift. If the Shackle is 2" it will only provide 1" of lift. In other words it will only produce half of the lift the shackle is long.

Message: no, not with out the actual shackle in the hanger...
i have a picture if you dont believe. right now, after the drop, the top of my bed/tailgate sit a lil higher then my waiste. in the picture, the top of it sits as high as my shoulders. even then you can see by the fender gap...
its still irrelivent, i dont think its useful becasue it seems like it would be too stiff. i thought it was more humorous... if youd like to see the pics still, email me - kamezzle13@usa.com
