Subject: Gear box for 98 and up Daks IP: Logged
Message: This is for anyone who decides to put on a Abbott ERA gear box, this is some info you might want to read. After many questions, answers and figuring out with Lee at Abbott this is what we've came up with. If you hook one of these up you have to go between the ABS and PCM. DON'T hook it up at the Vehicle Speed Sensor on the differential. It'll screw up the ABS big time. I don't care what the guy from KRC(Marty) says, he's deffinately wrong. That might work on 97 and older but it won't work right on the 98+. They use different sensors for vehicle speed readings. I realized this now after I got this thing going that my tranny shifts better, the engine runs better and the brakes work like they are suppose to. A lot of inputs for the PCM on this truck use the VSS. Of course the only people I'm talking to is 98+Daks with oversized tires. Just a note if any of you decide to use this thing. I learned it the hard way, but I learned it.
Wouldn't want any other!
