Message: I think you'll find all the info you need and more if you search the offroad and raised dakota forums.
This topic has been covered pretty well already.

Message: The kit from performance acc. is probably the most complete kit out there for the $$$.
Like Blizzard said, ALL the info. you will need and MUCH more will be found within the forum here.
I also put a 3" body lift from performance acc. on my 98' Dak, but mine is a 4x4 and then I went to the 32's and with that, there is slight rubbing on reverse turns and hard forward turns over bumps, but that is about it.
As far as a 2wd, I would keep checking the threads for more info because I don't think 32's will fit under your truck, I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure. Someone w/ a 2wd will be better versed on that, I am sure.
Hope this helps and good luck with your endevour!!!

Message: I've got a 2002 QC 2wd with 33's. I have a 3" body lift and 3" suspension lift, which I did have to trim the fenders for. As for only a 3" inch lift on a 2wd, 31's will fit. It IS possibly to squeeze in 32's, but you will need to do alot of trimming.
There are always variables with lift+tires combos so specs can be different, but overall 31's are what you'll be looking at. If you want, you can check pictures of my lifts (both body and suspension):

Hope this offers some help! ;-)

Message: Greg, take the truck to a shop and have them install the body lift for a $150. or so. It is worth it to have the body lift done right. There are numeras extensions that you need to do so the truck is safe. Like hoses, and shifter extensions. With a suspension lift, things are fairly obvious. A body however, takes some "riggen". But if you feel spunky, go for it. These trucks look nice lifted. Good Luck

Message: On my truck, I have a 3" body lift and 32x11.50 BFG Mud TA/KM on 15x8, American racing rims with a 5.5 backspacing. I have no problems with rubbing at all. What I found out the backspacing on the rims make a difference !!!! I had Eagles 589, 15x8 rims with a 3.75 backspacing on my truck for a day. It was rubbing really bad on turns. I could have trimmed the fenders, but decided to change rims to a different backspacing. What I would highly recommend is. Once you find the rims and tires you want, is to have the shop test fit the tire and wheel combo. Then you can turn your wheel left and right to see for yourself how much it will rub.

Message: Hey yall, why does it seem that everyone can run 31's on a 2wd with a 3in body lift. My 1990 has a 3in body and a 2in susp. lift and can only run 31's. Whats up with that!

Message: I am looking to put a 3" suspension lift on my 98 dakota 4x4 ex cab. I am interested in what kit is the best and most complete. I also would like to know if 33" tires will fit with aftermarket rims after the suspension lift instullation.
Thanx - Matt

Message: i dont know how differnt the 97 is from the 99 but i have a 2wd and im running 31x10.5x8 BFG AllTerrians and i have very very slight rubbing on hard right turns but thats it... the worse part of it is if i hit a big bump the top of my tires hit the bottem of the wheel well.. so with the lift you shouldnt have problems im guessing... cause its only an extra 1/2" of rubber(on the radius) and about an extra 1/4" extension of the rubber on the corners when your turning the wheel...
